Bubba Wallace will adorn Xfinity colors at Martinsville Speedway for the second year in a row during this weekend’s Xfinity 500 NASCAR Cup Series race. Like last year, Xfinity will highlight its Reward members on the No. 23 Toyota.
On Sunday, 231 Xfinity Rewards members will have the thrill of seeing their faces on Wallace’s No. 23 car. The total number is an expansion from 65 last year, as these members were selected from thousands of participants in the sweepstakes entries.
“We’re thrilled to bring back the selfie paint scheme for the second year, expanding it to feature 231 Xfinity Rewards members — nearly quadrupling the number of fans who get to ride along with Bubba Wallace at the Xfinity 500,” Matt Lederer, Comcast vp, Brand Partnerships & Engagement, said. “This year, we’ve also built a dedicated microsite to give fans featured on the car a way to engage with the campaign and easily share this special experience with their family and friends. It’s a unique way to celebrate and thank our loyal Xfinity Rewards members, bringing them closer to the action and reflecting our strong relationship with 23XI Racing and Bubba”.
Last year, Wallace drove the No. 23 Toyota to an 11th-place finish in the fall Martinsville race. He has three top-10 finishes in his last four attempts at the famed half-mile paperclip.
“It’s cool. We had some speed in the spring race. I’m looking forward to getting back to Martinsville. I’ve had some success there throughout the years. It’s cool for Xfinity. They’ve done a lot for our sport and are coming on and being part of our team now. We’re doing cool, innovative ways to keep the customers attached because at the end of the day, we’re trying to help out the customers and help Xfinity grow the business.”
“I’m sure it’s cool for the customers that signed up to have their face on a racecar,” Wallace said. “For me to give them some sort of ride of a lifetime, indirectly.
This will mark the fifth straight season that Xfinity has been the entitlement sponsor of the Championship 4 cutoff race at Martinsville. A few highlights in the previous four seasons include Alex Bowman and Denny Hamlin getting involved in a dust-up in 2021 and Ross Chastain’s signature Hail Melon pass up against the wall in 2022.
“Sponsoring the Xfinity 500, especially as a playoff race, has become a marquee moment for the sport over the past five years,” Lederer added. “This partnership is a testament to our dedication to NASCAR and its passionate fan base, and we’re proud to play a role in one of the season’s most pivotal events. We look forward to continuing to create unforgettable experiences that celebrate the loyalty of our customers and the excitement of the NASCAR playoffs.”
Leading into Martinsville, Xfinity is offering multiple ways for fans to engage with the Xfinity 500 weekend. For the past two weeks, free tickets were available at select Xfinity retail stores in Danville (158 Holt Garrison PKWY, 100 tickets), Christiansburg (2475 N Franklin St., 50 tickets) and Lynchburg (4010 Wards Rd Suite C, 50 tickets).
On Friday evening, Xfinity will host a panel event exclusively for Xfinity Rewards members featuring 23XI Racing drivers Wallace and Tyler Reddick, fresh off his win at Homestead-Miami Speedway to secure a Championship 4 spot. Xfinity will also host meet-and-greets throughout the weekend with Wallace and Justin Allgaier, who is vying for a spot into the Xfinity Series Championship 4, entering Saturday’s Natural Debt Relief 250 with a 35-point buffer over the elimination line.
Prior to Sunday’s green flag, select Xfinity Rewards members and other Xfinity guests will get a behind-the-scenes look at pit road and the garage area before the race, while enjoying exclusive access to Victory Lane following the event.
Select Xfinity rewards members will be included as pre-race dignitaries in waving the green flag and joining NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty to give the command to start engines.
Xfinity customers can join Xfinity Rewards for free at Xfinity.com/Rewards to access opportunities like these.
Dustin joined the Frontstretch team at the beginning of the 2016 season. 2020 marks his sixth full-time season covering the sport that he grew up loving. His dream was to one day be a NASCAR journalist, thus why he attended Ithaca College (Class of 2018) to earn a journalism degree. Since the ripe age of four, he knew he wanted to be a storyteller.
