Leland Honeyman will drive the No. 44 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Phoenix Raceway Nov. 4 after original driver Daniel Dye was not medically cleared to race, Alpha Prime Racing announced.
Dye was involved in an accident during the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Phoenix on Nov. 3.
The extent of Dye’s injury was not revealed.
Honeyman has made eight starts in the series in 2023, most of which have come with APR. His best finish is 21st at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL.
Dye was attempting to make his third Xfinity start of 2023. He ends the season with a best result of 17th at Texas Motor Speedway in his series debut.
He has competed full time in the Truck Series for the now-closed GMS Racing. His rookie season saw him earn one top 10, a sixth-place run at Talladega Superspeedway.
In 2024, Dye will move to McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in the Truck Series in the No. 43.
