Christian Rasmussen will join Ed Carpenter Racing in a partial schedule for the 2024 NTT IndyCar Series season, ECR announced Oct. 25.
Rasmussen will drive the No. 20 Chevrolet in all road course and street events, as well as pilot a third ECR entry in the Indianapolis 500.
Team owner Ed Carpenter, meanwhile, will participate in the six oval events to fill out the rest of the No. 20’s schedule.
“I am very excited to join Ed Carpenter Racing for the 2024 NTT IndyCar Series season,” Rasmussen said in a team release. “It is a dream come true and something I’ve been working toward for a long time now. I want to thank Ed Carpenter and Tim Broyles for the opportunity and I’m ready to get to work and show everyone what we can do.”
The Denmark native competed in four events in Indy NXT in 2022, earning one podium finish. In 2023, he broke through for five wins en route to the series championship.
2024 will mark Rasmussen’s series debut.
Rinus VeeKay will continue to drive the team’s No. 21 entry for a fifth consecutive season, as previously announced.
Rasmussen’s car number for the Indy 500 has not yet been announced.
