Chandler Smith will not return to Kaulig Racing’s NASCAR Xfinity Series team in 2024, the team announced on Sunday (Oct. 22).
Smith scored his first NASCAR Xfinity Series win at Richmond Raceway in April, and he joined Kaulig at the start of the season for what was intended to be a three-year contract.
Smith and Kaulig organized a buyout for him to leave early, and it was first reported by Matt Weaver of Sportsnaut on Friday (Oct. 20) that Smith is expected to sign with Joe Gibbs Racing’s Xfinity program and reunite with Toyota for 2024.
With nothing official at the moment, the 2024 plans for both Kaulig and Smith will be announced at a later date.
