Hometown Hero Dylan Cappello Scores ARCA West Win at Las Vegas Bullring

In the Star Nursery 150 from The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, it was hometown hero Dylan Cappello who scored the upset victory in his second career ARCA Menards Series West start.

ARCA West points leader Sean Hingorani started the race from the pole, while the most recent winner on the West tour Kaden Honeycutt started at the rear of the 22-car field after encountering engine troubles in qualifying.

Hingorani shot out to a sizable early lead as the rest of the field seemed to have nothing for him. Starting from the other side of the field, hard-charging Honeycutt cracked the top 10 before 10 laps went up on the board.

Honeycutt saw his charge toward the front stall out just outside the top five before he faded outside the top 10 and remained a non-factor for the rest of the race.

Hingorani’s margin out in front of the field would only be kept in check by the numerous cautions that flew on the day, as a total of nine cautions came before the race ended.

The story of the night played out under the seventh caution, as flames flickered from underneath the right front of Hingorani’s dominant No. 15 machine. The fire became significant enough for ARCA officials to have to call Hingorani to a stop, and Hingorani therefore had to drop to the rear of the field for not being able to maintain caution speed.

Hingorani’s misfortune saw the race fall right into the lap of local hotshoe Cappello, who was running a solid second at the time. Cappello survived a late-race restart brought on by another issue for Hingorani to hold on and score the victory.

Tanner Reif and Trevor Huddleston put on an excellent show in a door-to-door battle for second which saw Huddleston prevail, while Tanner Reif held on to finish third in front of his brother Tyler Reif in fourth and Kyle Keller in fifth.
