Josh Williams has been granted a playoff waiver for the NASCAR Xfinity Series by NASCAR, FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass reported March 30.
Williams would not have been eligible for the series playoffs due to missing last week’s race at Circuit of the Americas. NASCAR’s playoff eligibility stipulates that all eligible drivers must at least attempt to qualify for every race.
The driver of the No. 92 had been given a one-race suspension by NASCAR for stopping on the start/finish line at Atlanta Motor Speedway the week before.
Williams returns to the No. 92 this week at Richmond Raceway. In his five 2023 starts, he has a best finish of 15th at Daytona International Speedway.
