Ty Majeski Earns 3rd Truck Pole of 2022 at Richmond

Ty Majeski won the pole for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Richmond Raceway, laying down a fast lap of 119.58 mph in qualifying Saturday (Aug. 13).

It’s his third career pole, all coming from this year. Majeski will look to be the second driver to lock himself into the next round of the Truck playoffs.

Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Chandler Smith slots next to Majeski on the front row, while Stewart Friesen and rookie Layne Riggs make up the second row. Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park victor Grant Enfinger rounds out the top-five starters.

Zane Smith will begin the race in sixth, John Hunter Nemechek slots in seventh and Chase Purdy starts eighth. Christian Eckes and Matt DiBenedetto complete the top 10 in the lineup.

Other playoff contenders are Carson Hocevar in 12th, Ben Rhodes in 14th and Matt Crafton starting 15th.

Tyler Hill, Brennan Poole, Justin Carroll, Trey Hutchens, Mason Maggio and Norm Benning did not qualify for the race. However, Maggio will step in for Josh Reaume in the No. 33 truck after Reaume suffered a back injury earlier this week.
