Buddy Kofoid will make his ARCA Menards Series debut with Venturini Motorsports in the Atlas 100 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, team co-owner Billy Venturini confirmed to Frontstretch.
Kofoid will drive the No. 15 Toyota with sponsorship from Mobil 1.
Kevin Reed will serve as his crew chief.
Venturini has one expectation for Kofoid in his series debut: “To contend for the win.”
Kofoid will have Jesse Love and full-time driver Toni Breidinger as his teammates at the Springfield Mile.
Kofoid will only pilot the No. 15 at the Springfield Mile. Venturini said Corey Heim will drive the No. 15 at the second ARCA dirt track event at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds.
This season, the No. 15 entry is sixth in the owners’ standings with one victory, eight top fives and nine top-10 finishes. Chandler Smith wheeled the No. 15 to the win at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.
Kofoid has made two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts this season, both in the dirt events in the No. 51 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota. Kofoid finished a career-best 11th in the race at Knoxville Raceway.
Kofoid also has competed in one ARCA Menards Series West race. He wound up 21st due to a DNF in the 2018 race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.
Kofoid will make his ARCA debut on Sunday, Aug. 21.
