This weekend, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship has the first of two scheduled GT-only weekends at Lime Rock Park. With only the GTD Pro and GTD classes in action, only 15 teams are entered for the race.
While the currently available entry list does not reflect this, WeatherTech Racing announced Tuesday that they are switching from GTD Pro to the GTD class for the remainder of the season. Jules Gounon will join Cooper MacNeil in the No. 79 Mercedes, replacing Daniel Juncadella. As a result, there will be only five teams in GTD Pro instead of the six on the entry.
Lexus Racing and Vasser Sullivan confirmed on Wednesday that Jack Hawksworth will be back in the No. 14 Lexus this weekend.

He has been out since early May after suffering injuries in a motocross crash. He’ll replace Kamui Kobayashi in the car. As this announcement came only Wednesday, Hawksworth was listed as a TBD on the entry list.
In GTD, there are now 10 entries instead of the nine on the entry list. As this is a full round of both the full-season GTD championship and the WeatherTech Sprint Cup, the full-time teams that chose to skip Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (Team Korthoff Motorsports, Wright Motorsports) are back. In addition, CarBahn Motorsports with Peregrine Racing is back after missing CTMP due to crash damage at Watkins Glen.
