Ty Gibbs on Xfinity Pole at Atlanta, Qualifying Rained Out

Ty Gibbs will start from the pole in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway after qualifying was canceled due to rain.

The lineup was set by a metric formula used to make the qualifying order in reverse. The Road America winner had the lowest number, so he’ll start first.

Josh Berry begins second, while AJ Allmendinger is third. Gibbs’ Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Brandon Jones rolls off fourth, and Richard Childress Racing’s Austin Hill rounds out the top five.

Berry’s JR Motorsports cohorts Noah Gragson and Justin Allgaier are sixth and seventh, respectively. Riley Herbst is eighth, Ryan Sieg in ninth and Sam Mayer completes the top 10.

The formula used to make the lineup combines these categories: driver’s finishing position from previous race (25%), car owner’s finishing position (25%), team owner points ranking (35%) and fastest lap from previous race (15%).

Xfinity Starting Lineup for Atlanta

The Alsco Uniforms 250 is scheduled to run July 9 at 5 p.m. ET. TV coverage will start at 4:30 p.m. on USA Network.
