Hendrick Motorsports has extended its partnership with motor oil brand Valvoline until 2027, the NASCAR Cup Series team announced June 21.
The five-year extension of the race team-sponsor relationship includes the continuation of the brand adorning the Chevrolets of William Byron and Kyle Larson for select events in 2022. The Valvoline colors will be on Byron’s No. 24 when the series heads to Nashville Superspeedway this weekend.
“We are tremendously proud of our partnership with Valvoline,” Hendrick owner Rick Hendrick said in a team release. “Because of Valvoline’s commitment to quality and innovation, we’ve enjoyed great success together both at the track and in our dealerships.
The brand has seen an increase in primary sponsorship with the race team since its partnership began in 2014. Last year, Valvoline appeared on five HMS cars in various Cup events. There are six now scheduled for 2022. Larson will have the company return on his car at Homestead-Miami Speedway later this year.
Both Larson and Byron are inside the playoffs, with Larson earning one win and Byron scoring two so far this season. Larson and Byron sit seventh and eighth in the standings, respectively.
