Another new team has entered the NASCAR Cup Series fray for 2022.
Team Stange Racing, which has previously fielded entries in the NTT IndyCar Series and ARCA Menards Series, will field former Formula 1 driver Tarso Marques for a limited schedule in the 2022 Cup Series season and one race in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the team announced March 8.
The team, which is partnered with crypto sponsor Dignity Gold, will field the No. 79 Ford Mustang at eight races.

Its Cup season will begin on July 3 when the series takes to Road America.
The team’s schedule runs it through the season finale at Phoenix Raceway.
The new team will also attempt to compete in the Truck Series event at Sonoma Raceway on June 12.
Marques has 24 F1 starts under his belt for the Minardi F1 team from 1996 to 2001, along with 27 starts in the CART championship.
“With an experienced driver like Tarso behind the wheel, we’re very optimistic about competing in the NASCAR Cup Series this year, with additional races and series to be announced,” John Stange Jr., team president and CEO, said in a team release. “I look forward to teaming up with Dignity and my friend Tarso on the racing programs, as we continue to build a dream team, leading exciting projects outside of racing.”
