Ryan Preece will have a new sponsor adorning his ride this year, with United Rentals coming on board for select races in 2022, Stewart-Haas Racing announced March 1.
The Connecticut native has plans to be behind the wheel for multiple races in 2022 in the NASCAR Cup, Xfinity and Camping World Truck series. The new sponsor will be on board Preece’s No. 17 Ford F-150 for David Gilliland Racing starting this weekend at the Truck race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
United Rentals also plans to return as Preece’s primary sponsor for two additional races at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 19 and Darlington Raceway on May 6. The partner also joins Preece during one Xfinity and one Cup race later in the year. Those events will be announced at a later date.
“I’ve always been hands-on in preparing my racecars, and that has meant being hands on when it comes to getting the resources I need to go racing,” Preece said in a team release. “I feel like I’ve done every job on the racecar and in the shop, so that means I know my way around a lot of the equipment United Rentals provides.
Preece returns to the Truck Series this weekend for the first time in 2022 after making two starts in 2021. He won in his first career Truck start at Nashville Superspeedway last year and finished ninth at Pocono Raceway.
