Marco Andretti will again run the Indianapolis 500 in 2022, Andretti Autosport announced Feb. 15.
Andretti will drive the No. 98, with sponsorship from KULR Technology, in the NTT IndyCar Series’ race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
“We’ve worked with KULR through Andretti Technologies for over a year now, including last year’s Indy 500 with Marco, and we are thrilled to now welcome them as a primary sponsor to our IndyCar program,” Andretti Autosport Chairman and CEO Michael Andretti said in a team release. “The development potential of KULR’s technology is exciting given their expertise in high-performance thermal management solutions and understanding of battery safety. We look forward to this special event in May as Marco celebrates 250 career IndyCar starts.”
It’s Andretti’s first announced race of 2022. He also ran just one race, the Indy 500, in 2021, finishing 19th.
Andretti Autosport has announced a three-car operation for 2022 on a full-time basis, plus a fourth under the Andretti Steinbrenner Autosport banner.
