David Starr will be in the No. 08 for the majority of the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule for SS-Green Light Racing, SSGLR announced Feb. 15.
Starr’s season kicks off this weekend at Daytona International Speedway.
“I am excited to have David back as a driver,” team owner Bobby Dotter said in a release. “He has driven for me numerous times, but never with this quality of equipment. We are hoping to showcase his talents with the right equipment this year thanks to the support from Ford.”
“It’s awesome to be working with Bobby Dotter, Jason Miller and the whole SS Green Light Racing crew again,” Starr added. “Bobby has been a great friend over the years and his passion for racing matches my passion for racing which is the perfect recipe for success.
“I am honored to have Fox News’ Bret Baier, EverFi Inc, TicketSmarter and Digital Ally as our primary partners for the season. I’m humbled to represent these incredibly successful and nationally recognized brands on and off the race track.”
SSGLR is entering into a partnership with Stewart-Haas Racing for 2022. Joe Graf Jr. will drive the No. 07 full time, while some of SHR’s NASCAR Cup Series drivers could also end up in SSGLR cars this year.
In 2021, Starr competed in 26 Xfinity races for MBM Motorsports, with a best finish of 14th at Daytona International Speedway.
