Sage Karam Moving to APR for Part-Time Schedule

Sage Karam will compete in a part-time NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule for Alpha Prime Racing in 2022, he tweeted Jan. 6.

“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunities that 2021 provided and am equally as excited to join Alpha Prime Racing for 2022,” Karam said in a team release. “I can’t thank (team co-owner) Tommy Joe Martins enough for his trust and confidence heading into this season. I welcome the opportunity to learn from him and his team and look forward to competing against some of the toughest competition in motorsports.”

Karam’s first race of the season will be at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

“As competitive as the Xfinity Series field is going to be this year, it’s even more important to our team to bring in talented drivers like Sage,” Martins added. “Sage is a top-level racecar driver with a history of success in everything he’s ever driven. We can’t wait to work with him.”

Karam’s number for Atlanta and beyond was not announced; APR is fielding the Nos. 44 and 45 full time in 2022.

He made his Xfinity debut in 2021, driving four races for Jordan Anderson Racing with a best finish of 16th at Bristol Motor Speedway.
