Joey Logano‘s crew chief Paul Wolfe will miss this weekend’s Drydene 400 at Dover International Speedway after being suspended by NASCAR for failing to secure two lug nuts on the No. 22 Ford Mustang after last Sunday’s (May 9) Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway.
According to FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass, Team Penske veteran and Logano’s team engineer Jonathan Hassler will serve as the crew chief when the NASCAR Cup Series returns to the Monster Mile May 16
It isn’t the first time Hassler has subbed for a crew chief in 2021, as Hassler sat on the top of the Wood Brothers Racing pit box earlier this year at Martinsville Speedway. He subbed for Matt DiBenedetto‘s full-time crew chief Greg Irwin after he was diagnosed with COVID-19.
DiBenedetto finished 12th at the Virginia short track in April.
Hassler will join Logano in this weekend’s Drydene 400 at Dover. Fox Sports 1 will broadcast the 400-lap event live beginning at 2 p.m. ET.
