AJ Allmendinger Takes Xfinity Pole at Darlington

After a week off, the NASCAR Xfinity Series take on Darlington Raceway and AJ Allmendinger’s on the pole for Saturday’s (May 8) race.

The No. 16 Kaulig Racing pilot claimed the position after ending third at Talladega Superspeedway.

Team Penske’s Austin Cindric starts second next to Allmendinger, while Talladega winner Jeb Burton slots in third. Justin Haley, the third and final Kaulig driver, begins fourth and Noah Gragson rounds out the top five.

Riley Herbst wheels his No. 98 Stewart-Haas Racing car from sixth, while Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Daniel Hemric and Harrison Burton line up seventh and eighth. Brandon Brown and Myatt Snider finish up the top 10 starters.

Driver’s and car owner’s finishing position (weighted 25% each), team owner points ranking (35%) and fastest lap from previous race (15%) were combined to set the lineup.

The Steakhouse Elite 200 airs May 8 at 1 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1.
