MoneyLion Sponsoring Simona De Silvestro in Indy 500

Simona De Silvestro and Paretta Motorsports will have sponsor MoneyLion on its No. 16 Chevrolet-powered entry in the Indianapolis 500, Paretta announced March 8.

The new team is the first to have a woman-owned and -driven entry in the sport.

“We’re thrilled to align with MoneyLion because of our shared ideals,” Paretta CEO/team principal Beth Paretta said in a team release. “MoneyLion’s focus on empowering women through improved financial access and literacy is a direct parallel to our mission of helping women advance their careers. We’re pleased that MoneyLion sees the value of our women-forward racing program and greatly look forward to being a part of their ‘Women Who Roar’ campaign.”

De Silvestro has 68 career NTT IndyCar Series, though none of them have come since 2015, when she ran the Indianapolis 500 for Andretti Autosport, finishing 19th. She has one podium finish, coming home second at NRG Park Stadium Circuit in Houston in 2013.
