Scott Heckert is set to drive the No. 78 car for Live Fast Motorsports in Sunday’s (Feb. 21) NASCAR Cup Series race at the Daytona International Speedway road course.
The change was noted the Cup starting lineup for the event.
BJ McLeod, who ended 23rd in the Daytona 500, was listed to start 19th, but Heckert will instead begin 28th.
The race will be Heckert’s Cup debut.
Heckert competed in 10 total Xfinity Series events, seven with BJ McLeod Motorsports, from 2016-2020. Most of these events came at road courses.
The change was not yet confirmed by the team.
The O’Reilly Auto Parts 253 will air on Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. ET on FOX.
