There are 45 cars competing for 36 spots for Saturday’s (Feb. 13) 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway. The Beef. It’s What’s for Dinner. 300 features a number of drivers debuting in new rides as the 120-lap race kicks off the sport’s nine month, 33-race schedule.
Among the notable entries is Tyler Reddick, the 2018 and 2019 NXS champ, who will run the No. 03 car of Our Motorsports. The team expanded to two cars in the offseason with Brett Moffitt running their No. 02 full-time.
Other one-offs include Cody Ware, who will drive the No. 17 car of SS Green Light Racing. The car will be fielded as a joint effort with Rick Ware Racing as they expand into NXS.
Jason White’s piloting the No. 23 car of RSS Racing, a teammate of championship contender Ryan Sieg, while Chris Cockrum is in the No. 25 Chevrolet of ACG Motorsports. Cockrum’s No. 25 team is scheduled to run just a handful of races this year.
Danny Bohn will drive Big Machine Racing’s No. 48 car, a new NXS team making its debut this weekend. Full-time driver Jade Buford was not eligible to compete in this event.
Caesar Bacarella and Mario Gosselin are in DGM Racing’s Nos. 90 and 91, respectively, while full-time driver Josh Williams completes the trio of entries in the No. 92.
One car, the No. 13 of Motorsports Business Management, is listed with a driver to be announced.
