2021 Drive for Diversity Driver Development Class Revealed

The 2021 NASCAR Drive for Diversity Driver Development class was announced by NASCAR and Rev Racing Feb. 3.

The eight racers include veterans Nick Sanchez, Rajah Caruth, Isabella Robusto, Lavar Scott and Regina Sirvent, as well as newcomers Justin Campbell, Andres Perez de Lara and Jaiden Reyna.

Sanchez will compete in the ARCA Menards Series this season. Caruth will race in the ARCA Menards Series East as well as the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series.

Legend car drivers Scott and Sirvent will join Caruth in the Weekly Series, and Robusto will drive in the Late Model division. Campbell, Perez de Lara and Reyna will pilot U.S. Legend cars.

“We are thrilled to welcome these accomplished drivers to our successful development program,” Jusan Hamilton, NASCAR Director, Racing Operations and Event Management, said in a release. “We‘re enthusiastic about their future and look forward to working with each driver as they advance their racing careers.”

After the 2020 Combine was canceled due to COVID-19, a panel of NASCAR industry members selected drivers based on their applications, references, historical success and previous on-track performance.

“We could not be more pleased with the 2021 class selection,” Max Siegel, Rev Racing owner, said. “Each year the competition in the sport continues to rise and so does the talent of our applicant pool. We feel very confident in our ability to be competitive and look forward to a successful season.”

Current NASCAR Cup Series drivers Bubba Wallace, Kyle Larson and Daniel Suarez are Drive for Diversity Development Program Alumni.
