BJ McLeod Adds Motorsport Games Sponsorship for First 3 Races

BJ McLeod will have primary sponsorship from Motorsport Games, Inc., maker of NASCAR Heat 5, for the first three NASCAR Cup Series races, Live Fast Motorsports announced Feb. 2.

NASCAR Heat 5 will adorn the No. 78 Ford Mustang in the Daytona 500, at the Daytona International Speedway road course and at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to compete in the biggest race in America, the Daytona 500, with such an awesome partner,” McLeod, co-owner of Live Fast, said in a release. “Being a huge fan of racing games and having the opportunity to represent NASCAR Heat 5 is something that I take great pride in. I can’t see a better way to kick off our team’s debut season than partnering with Motorsport Games, as well as Free Play Days on Xbox.”

McLeod competed in 16 Cup races last year for his own team as well as Rick Ware Racing and Spire Motorsports. Additionally, he drove for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller for much of the 2020 Xfinity Series season, while BJ McLeod Motorsports fielded Matt Mills and several others throughout the year.

“I am thrilled to have Motorsport Games as our team’s founding partner,” fellow co-owner Matt Tifft said. “I first got my interest in NASCAR from playing racing video games, so this is a natural fit for myself and BJ! As the youngest owners in the sport, this is a great connection to our younger fans and we can’t wait to have our No. 78 Ford Mustang on the high banks of Daytona.”

The Daytona 500 is set to run on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 2:30 p.m. ET and will air on FOX.
