After initially being announced for a part-time run in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2021, Raphael Lessard has altered his schedule to a full-time season with GMS Racing, the team announced Jan. 7.
Lessard will drive the No. 24 for the full 2021 season.
“We are excited to have Raphael join us for the 2021 season,” Mike Beam, president of GMS, said in a team release. “Raphael is a talented young man, and we are excited to see what he can do with a full season with this team.”
Lessard boasts sponsorship from Richelieu Hardware as an associate sponsor for five races, with more to be announced.
He joins fellow GMS full-timers Tyler Ankrum, Zane Smith, Chase Purdy and defending champion Sheldon Creed.
In 2020, Lessard competed in his first full-time Truck season for Kyle Busch Motorsports, winning at Talladega Superspeedway and finishing 12th in points. His No. 4 ride there will be taken by John Hunter Nemechek for 2021.
