Austin Cindric Nabs Xfinity Pole at Martinsville

Austin Cindric will control the start when the NASCAR Xfinity Series take on Martinsville Speedway in the final race before the championship.

The Team Penske driver claimed the pole after finishing fourth last week at Texas Motor Speedway. His team is ranked second in owner points, though, which gave him a boost in the metric formula.

JR Motorsports pilot Noah Gragson will begin where he ended last Saturday in second place. Kaulig Racing teammates Justin Haley and Ross Chastain lineup third and fourth, and Chase Briscoe rounds out the top five starters.

Justin Allgaier is sixth, Brandon Jones is seventh, Jeb Burton begins eighth and Ryan Sieg is ninth. Texas victor Harrison Burton rounds out the top 10 in the lineup.

The lineup was made using an equation that combined four weighted groups: rank in owner points (35%), driver’s finishing position (25%), team owner’s finishing position (25%) and fastest lap from previous race (15%).

The Draft Top 250 airs on Oct. 31 at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC and MRN radio.
