For the first time since 2011 the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series takes on Darlington Raceway, and Brett Moffitt is on the pole for Sunday’s (Sept. 6) South Carolina Education Lottery 200.
The driver of the No. 23 Chevrolet for GMS Racing earned the pole after finishing second last week at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway.
NASCAR adjusted the lineup method this week and added owner’s finishing position from previous race (weighted 25%) to the formula. Driver’s end position is also 25%, fastest lap 15% and owner points ranking 35%.
Moffitt starts alongside Gateway victor and GMS teammate Sheldon Creed. Hattori Racing Enterprises’ Austin Hill is in third, while Zane Smith is fourth. ThorSport Racing’s Ben Rhodes rounds out the top five qualifiers.
Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Raphael Lessard begins sixth, while Grant Enfinger starts seventh. Stewart Friesen is eighth, Tyler Ankrum ninth and Matt Crafton completes the top 10.
