For the second week in a row, the NASCAR Xfinity Series will make left and right turns on a road course. This time, though, it will race on the new Daytona International Speedway road course, and Austin Cindric nabbed the pole for Saturday’s (Aug. 15) UNOH 188.
Last week’s winner at Road America took the top spot thanks to the new formula that was implemented for the rest of the season. Finishing position from the last race is weighted 50%, owner’s points position 35% and fastest lap from previous race 15%. Previously the lineup was based on a random draw.
Chase Briscoe starts next to Cindric on the front row, while Noah Gragson begins third. Kaulig Racing teammates Ross Chastain and Justin Haley round out the top five.
Andy Lally qualified sixth, Michael Annett in seventh and Ryan Sieg starts eighth. Harrison Burton and AJ Allmendinger finish up the top 10.
Xfinity Starting Lineup: UNOH 188
The UNOH 188 is set to run on Saturday, Aug. 15, at 3 p.m. ET and will air on NBC Sports Network.
