Aric Almirola Starting 1st in Cup Texas Race

Aric Almirola will start first in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.

In 18 career starts at the 1.5-mile track in Fort Worth, Texas, Almirola only has one top-five finish, second in the most recent Cup race there in 2019.

Ryan Blaney will start second, brothers Kurt Busch and Kyle Busch will start third and fourth, respectively, and Kevin Harvick will start fifth.

The winner of the NASCAR All-Star Race, Chase Elliott, will start eighth.

Cole Custer, who won the series most recent points race at Kentucky Speedway, will start 19th. He is also the highest-starting rookie.

The O’Reilly Auto Parts will wrap up the three races in two days at Texas. It is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 19 at 3 p.m. ET with TV coverage provided by NBC Sports Network.
