Patrick Emerling to Make NASCAR Xfinity Series Debut at Bristol

Modified veteran Patrick Emerling will make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut with Our Motorsports and Andy Seuss at Bristol Motor Speedway. The partnership was revealed in a Wednesday interview (May 20) published by Speed51.

“It’s just something that the opportunity just came about. It’s pretty awesome we’re at that level,” Emerling told the publication. “It’s going to be pretty wild. Bristol’s one of my favorite tracks, we won the Modified race there about three years ago or so. It’s going to be pretty exciting.”

Emerling has two career starts in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway. The 27-year-old failed to finish either event for former owner D.J. Copp.

Additionally, Emerling’s a two-time Race of Champions modified champion and has one win, 18 top fives and 48 top 10s in the sport’s Whelen Modified Tour.

Truck Series regular Brett Moffitt competed in the first four Xfinity Series races for Our Motorsports. The team is in its first season running NXS.

The Cheddar’s 300 presented by Alsco at Bristol Motor Speedway is scheduled for Saturday, May 30 at 3:30 p.m. ET. Television coverage will be provided by Fox Sports 1. The series is first scheduled to race at Darlington Raceway and also Charlotte Motor Speedway before heading to Bristol.
