NASCAR and 13 other professional sports leagues announced Monday (May 4) the launch of The Real Heroes Project, an initiative dedicated to honor healthcare workers battling against COVID-19.
Joe Gibbs Racing driver Kyle Busch and Stewart-Haas Racing’s Kevin Harvick will represent NASCAR in the campaign.
Other notable professional athletes include Aaron Judge, Drew Brees and National Hockey League legend Wayne Gretzky.
Each league’s representatives will honor a healthcare hero from their community and put their hero’s name on their jersey or uniform. They will also share a thank you message on social media using #TheRealHeroes.
The multi-league public service announcement will debut Wednesday on leagues and team platforms.
