Brandon Jones will start from the pole position in the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ race at Auto Club Speedway on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 29). Jones won the pole with a speed of 180.234 miles per hour earlier on Saturday, marking his third career pole and his first since Dover International Speedway in May 2018.
Jones will be joined on the front row with Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Harrison Burton. Last week’s winner Chase Briscoe will start third, and Daniel Hemric, making his second start for JR Motorsports, starts fourth. Riley Herbst will start fifth, putting all three JGR cars in the top five.
The rest of the top 10 has Ross Chastain in sixth, Austin Cindric in seventh and Ryan Seig in eighth. Justin Haley and Justin Allgaier round out the top 10. Anthony Alfredo, who is making his first start in Richard Childress Racing’s No. 21 car, will start 13th.
Thirty-six cars entered the race, so all of them made it into the field.
