Boyd Gaming 300 Qualifying Cancelled; Myatt Snider Awarded Pole

Qualifying for Saturday’s Boyd Gaming 300 at Las Vegas has been cancelled due to heavy rains. Since this is only the second race of the 2020 Xfinity Series season, the lineup has been set by the 2019 owner points. Due to shifts in owners points from last season, Richard Childress Racing’s Myatt Snider will start the pace laps from the pole in the No. 21 TaySlayer Chevrolet.

Snider is making only his second start in the Xfinity Series and has spent the previous four seasons in the Truck Series. He has 35 career starts there with four top-five and 13 top-10 finishes. Chase Briscoe, Harrison Burton, Justin Allgaier and JJ Yeley will round out the top five.

Unfortunately, Snider crashed his Chevrolet in the sole Xfinity Series practice session on Friday. Moving to a backup car means that the entire inside line will move up one row. That means that Burton will lead the field to green Saturday afternoon.

Austin Cindric will start sixth, followed by Daytona winner Noah Gragson. Michael Annett, Brandon Jones and Daniel Hemric, who is making his first start in the No. 8 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports, will round out the top 10.

2020 BOYD GAMING 300 STARTING LINEUP

There were only 36 cars entered, so no one will fail to qualify the race.

The Boyd Gaming 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is scheduled for a 4 p.m. ET start. The race will air live on FOX Sports 1, while radio coverage will be on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio and PRN Radio affiliates.
