“I’m so excited to join Premium Motorsports at Indianapolis for one of the biggest races of the year,” Sieg said in a team release. “I can’t thank Sci-Aps and everyone at Premium Motorsports [enough] for making this possible.”
Sieg owns and runs RSS Racing in the Xfinity Series, where he drives the No. 39, with a variety of other drivers (including Josh Bilicki, Jeff Green and JJ Yeley) in the Nos. 38 and 93. Sieg has two top fives at Daytona International Speedway and Richmond Raceway in 2019, with eight top 10s through 22 races, and currently holds the final playoff position.
He has also driven in two Gander Outdoors Truck Series events this season for Reaume Brothers Racing, with results of 18th at Dover International Speedway and 14th at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Sieg has five career Cup Series starts, all in 2017 for BK Racing, with a best finish of 26th at Dover. He was entered but was withdrawn at Indianapolis that year.
The Premium No. 27 is 38th out of 45 total teams in the MENCS owner standings, with 85 points through 14 events, Sieg will be the fourth driver of this car in 2019.
The race will be the Cup regular season finale and will be held on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. ET, with TV coverage on the NBC Sports Network.
