Danny Bohn Attempting Truck Debut at Martinsville With On Point Motorsports

Danny Bohn will attempt his NASCAR national series debut in the Gander Outdoors Truck Series with On Point Motorsports at Martinsville Speedway on Oct. 26 in the Alpha Energy Solutions 200, the team announced Wednesday afternoon (Aug. 7).

On Point Motorsports was formed late in 2018, with Brennan Poole being the primary driver.

Sponsorship will come from Big Machine Label Group and promote country rocker Brantley Gilbert’s upcoming fifth album, Fire and Brimstone.

“It’s been a long road to get to this point to race on a national stage and I have to thank On Point Motorsports for providing the opportunity as well as Scott Borchetta and Ray Evernham for making it possible,” Bohn said in a press release.

“I’ve got a lot of support behind me and I intend to make the most of my opportunity and prove that a modified racer like me deserves his shot.”

Bohn is a 31-year-old from Freehold, N.J., who finished second in the 2012 Whelen Southern Modified Tour standings, winning Rookie of the Year and Most Popular Driver honors.

His father and grandfather are longtime modified racers from New Jersey.

Bohn has four wins, eight poles, 27 top fives and 42 top 10s in four seasons on the Southern Modified Tour, and he currently races a part-time schedule on the Whelen Modified Tour.

On Point’s No. 30 has competed in 10 races so far in 2019 with three top 10s and a best finish of second at Charlotte Motor Speedway and sits 22nd in the NGOTS owner standings out of 55 total teams.
