Christian Eckes On Gateway Pole After Truck Series Qualifying Canceled

For the second week in a row, Mother Nature delayed on-track activities for the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Trucks Series. As a result, qualifying for the CarShield 200 at the World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, set for Saturday afternoon (June 22) has been canceled. Drivers will line up according to the NASCAR rule book (owners points).

This puts Christian Eckes, driving the No. 51 truck for Kyle Busch Motorsports, on the pole position. This will be Eckes’ second start of the year and sixth of his Truck Series career. Driver points leader Grant Enfinger will start alongside Eckes on the front row.

Enfinger’s ThorSport Racing teammate Matt Crafton starts third. Stewart Friesen and Brett Moffitt round out the top five.

Another ThorSport racer, Ben Rhodes, will begin the race sixth. Ross Chastain, Harrison Burton, Austin Hill and Myatt Snider finish up the top 10. Snider is filling in for Johnny Sauter, who was suspended for one race due to his actions on-track at Iowa Speedway last week.

NGOTS Starting Lineup for the CarShield 200

The trucks were scheduled to practice at 11:35 a.m./ET on Saturday, but that was also canceled. Their lone practice is now set to run from 5-5:50 p.m./ET on Saturday evening, weather permitting.

Even with the delays, the Truck race is still set to run tonight at 10 p.m./ET. Coverage will be on FOX Sports 1.
