Joey Gase and MBM Motorsports have picked up unique sponsorship for the 2019 season’s penultimate race at ISM Raceway on Nov. 10 in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
The No. 66 Toyota Camry will promote the IMCA Winter Nationals at Cocopah Speedway, which will run from Jan. 8-18, 2020, at the three-eighths-mile dirt track in Somerton, Ariz.
“I am beyond excited to be promoting the IMCA Winter Nationals in Phoenix this fall,” Gase said in a press release. “To start, ISM Raceway is one of my favorite tracks that we race at in NASCAR. Secondly, I am really looking forward to participating in the nationals and being able to race a modified on dirt for my very first time! Being from Iowa, the birthplace of IMCA and the dirt capital, everyone always assumed that I grew up dirt racing.
“I grew in Cedar Rapids, which has the only asphalt track in the state. I watched my dad race IMCA Modifieds there ever since I can remember and when I turned 14, he let me take over. IMCA Modifieds on asphalt was one of the funnest cars I have ever driven and I’m sure that will be no different on dirt!”
For more information about Cocopah Speedway, see the track website for details.
Gase is not running for Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series points this season but has competed for MBM in both the Nos. 66 and 46, with a best finish of 32nd in the Coca-Cola 600. The open No. 66 is 41st in the MENCS owner standings right now after competing in seven races.
Gase competes full time for MBM in the Xfinity Series, where he’s 25th in points entering Iowa Speedway in the No. 35 with a best finish of 16th at Daytona International Speedway.
