The rear deck lid of Richard Childress Racing’s No. 3 Chevy car (driven by Austin Dillon) was seized by NASCAR officials after it was found to be out of compliance with the NASCAR Rule Book.
The piece was taken into into the Monster Energy Series hauler in the garage at Talladega for further review.
A spokesperson for NASCAR said that any penalties they may issue would follow the Cup race on Sunday (April 28, 2pm ET on FOX).
Monster Energy Cup Series qualifying begins Saturday at 4:40pm ET on FOX.
