Brennan Poole to Compete in Trucks Full-Time With On Point Motorsports

On Point Motorsports announced Monday (Jan. 28) it will compete full-time in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series in 2019, with Brennan Poole driving the team’s No. 30 Toyota.

“I am extremely excited about driving for On Point Motorsports this season,” Poole said in a press release.  “From the very first moment I set foot in the On Point Motorsports facility, I continue to be so impressed with what the team has put together for the 2019 season. We have a great opportunity to surprise a lot of people and we are ready to go racing.”

Poole comes to On Point Motorsports with limited experience in the Truck Series: three career starts, the most recent coming at Homestead-Miami Speedway back in November for NextGen Motorsports.  His best career finish is an 11th at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2015 for GMS Racing.

Poole also has 83 career starts in the Xfinity Series with eight top fives and 36 top-10 finishes.

The start at Homestead was one of two races for Poole in a NASCAR national series, both coming in the No. 35.  He raced for Chip Ganassi Racing for two seasons, bringing sponsorship from DC Solar to the team.  He was let go from the operation when Ganassi cut the Xfinity program from two teams to one at the end of 2017.

“We have put a tremendous amount of sweat and tears into the development of On Point Motorsports, and the results show when a driver of the caliber of Brennan Poole is excited about being a part of this,” team owner Steven Lane said.  “We have worked very hard as an organization to build this program, and we are very excited to welcome a driver with the talents of Brennan to our team. We definitely have some exciting times ahead for all of us.”

On Point Motorsports competed in five Truck Series races in 2018 with three different drivers (Jeb Burton, Scott Lagasse Jr. and Austin Theriault).  The team’s best finish was eighth at Las Vegas in September with Theriault driving.

No sponsorship for the team was announced at press time.
