Chase Elliott Tops Final Practice for GoBowling at the Glen

Final practice for Sunday’s Go Bowling at the Glen belonged to Denny Hamlin, that is for all but the final two minutes. Hamlin was on top of the charts for most of the session until Chase Elliott set a blistering lap (124.520 mph) around the tricky road course and was rewarded by setting the fastest time in the session.

Hamlin ended the practice in second (124.365 mph), with Aric Almirola (123.979 mph) ending the session in third. William Byron (123.977 mph) and Michael McDowell (123.911 mph) rounded out the top five.

Jimmie Johnson, Jamie McMurray, Kasey Kahne, Ricky Stenhouse Jr and Martin Truex Jr completed the top 10.

Kyle Busch ended the practice in 19th but had the fastest 10-lap average (122.354 mph) in the session. Eight cars ran 10 or more laps in the session.

Next up for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is Busch Pole Qualifying. The two round qualifying session is scheduled to start at 6:35 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
