Justin Haley and Harrison Burton Lead Saturday Practices at Iowa

Justin Haley and Harrison Burton led the way in Saturday’s (June 16) practice sessions for Saturday nights M&M’s 200 at Iowa Speedway. The two young guns led the charge ahead of seasoned veterans like Matt Crafton and Johnny Sauter.

Haley led the first practice session on a hot Saturday morning at Iowa. Haley turned a 134.294 mph lap around the 7/8ths mile in Newton, Iowa. Cody Coughlin finished the session in second, with a lap .046 seconds slower.

Atlanta winner Brett Moffitt finished the session in third while last year’s ARCA winner at Iowa Dalton Sargeant finished fourth and the winner of the last two K&N races at Iowa Todd Gilliland rounded out the top-five speeds.

Burton turned the most laps in the session at 44 while Wendell Chavous and Ross Chastain both ran just one lap during the opening session. Jennifer Jo Cobb was the slowest of the session 2.383 seconds off the fastest.

M&M’s 200 FIRST PRACTICE RESULTS

Burton led the way in the second and final practice session of the day. Burton turned a 134.202-mph lap, leading Sargeant, who lead a majority of the session.

Last weekend’s winner Johnny Sauter finished the session in third while Stewart Friesen and Todd Gilliland rounded out the top-five speeds.

On top of leading final practice, Burton turned the most laps of the session with 55. He also turned the most laps in the first session totaling his amount to 99 laps around the Iowa Speedway. Chastain turned the least amount of laps during the session with just one. There was a 2.471-second difference between first place Burton and last place Cobb.

M&M’s 200 FINAL PRACTICE RESULTS

Qualifying for tonights M&M’s 200 presented by Casey’s General Store begins at 4:30 p.m./ET. The race begins at 7 p.m./ET and with both airing live on FS1.
