Darrell Wallace Jr. Running Double Duty at Kansas

Darrell Wallace Jr. will pull double duty this weekend at Kansas Speedway. Wallace will compete in both the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events. He’ll pilot the No. 20 Andy’s Frozen Custard Chevrolet Silverado for Young’s Motorsports in the 37 Kind Days 250, the organization announced on Tuesday (May 8).

“I am really excited to have Bubba come over and drive for us this week,” said Young’s Motorsports President Tyler Young. “He has so much experience in the Truck Series and always does a great job. We’re looking forward to a solid weekend.”

In 45 career NCWTS starts, Wallace has earned six career victories, most recently last season with MDM Motorsports at Michigan (pictured above). He also has 15 top fives, 27 top 10s, and three poles on his resume. Wallace finished third in NCWTS Championship standings in 2014 driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports.

“I always enjoy racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and am thankful for this opportunity with Young’s Motorsports,” said Wallace. “Kansas is a fast and fun track and I am ready to put our Andy’s Frozen Custard Chevy to the test.”

The Kansas race weekend is already a major one for the Mobile, Ala. native as World Wide Technology makes its debut as a primary sponsor with Richard Petty Motorsports during Saturday’s KC Masterpiece 400. It’ll be the first of six races that the World Wide Technology brand will adorn the famous No. 43. Adding Friday Night’s NCWTS event adds an extra opportunity for Wallace to shine in Kansas.

His favorite tracks on the circuit include Barber Motorsports Park, Iowa Speedway, Martinsville Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville, and Bristol Motor Speedway.

During the season, Christian also spends time as a photographer with multiple other outlets shooting Monster Energy AMA Supercross, Minor League & Major League Baseball, and NCAA Football.
