Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch put their numbers at the top of the leaderboard in the pair of Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practices at Auto Club Speedway of California on Saturday afternoon (March 17).
Harvick, who is going for four consecutive wins this weekend, was the fastest in the first session of the day, the second overall, with a speed of 186.075 mph. His Stewart-Haas Racing teammate Kurt Busch (184.431 mph) followed Harvick for second place.
The Chevrolets of Chase Elliott (184.021 mph) and Kyle Larson (183.908 mph), defending winner of the race, were third and fourth, and Ryan Blaney (183.861 mph) rounded out the top five.
The fastest Toyota was Erik Jones (183.057 mph) in 12th place.
AUTO CLUB SPEEDWAY MENCS SECOND PRACTICE RESULTS
Kyle Busch laid down the fastest time in the second practice of the day and third of the weekend with a speed of 185.668 mph. Pole sitter Martin Truex Jr. (185.319 mph) was second quickest, and Jimmie Johnson (184.525 mph) was the best Chevy in third.
Harvick (184.308 mph) was fourth in the later session and Ford teammate Brad Keselowski (184.280 mph) took fifth.

The Auto Club 400 is scheduled for 3:46 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon (March 18). FOX and MRN will broadcast the race.
