XFINITY Qualifying Washed Out at Charlotte, Daniel Suarez on Pole

A persistent drizzle over Charlotte Motor Speedway kept cars of the track Saturday morning, and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice was canceled along with XFINITY Series qualifying.

The field for the Drive for the Cure 300 was set by the NASCAR rulebook, with defending series champion Daniel Suarez on the pole in the No. 18, which leads the owner point standings in the series.

Ryan Blaney, Erik Jones, Alex Bowman and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.

Championship contenders William Byron and Elliott Sadler start sixth and seventh, Daniel Hemric eighth, and Brennan Poole and Ty Dillon finish out the top 10.

Other playoff contenders in the elimination race include Ryan Reed (11th), Cole Custer (13th), Matt Tifft (14th), Blake Koch (15th), Brendan Gaughan (16th), Michael Annett (17th) and Jeremy Clements (23rd).

Dexter Bean failed to qualify in the No. 92.

Drive for the Cure 300 Lineup

The race is scheduled for 3 p.m. with TV coverage on NBC Sports Network and radio via PRN.
