Following a hard hit during his qualifying lap at Pocono Raceway, Ryan Hunter-Reay has been transported via ground to Lehigh Valley Hospital for further evaluation.
Hunter-Reay, who won practice earlier Saturday, broke loose in Turn 3 on his warm-up lap, spinning and side-slapping the outside wall. Without control, his No. 28 Andretti Autosport Chevrolet slid and impacted the inside wall on the left side.
