Entry List: Lime Rock Park 120

For the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, 31 cars are currently entered in Saturday’s two-hour race at Lime Rock Park.  There have been a few changes in both classes for this week.

Originally, the entry list was at 33, but TeamTGM has elected to withdraw.  Team owner/driver Ted Giovanis was involved in a practice crash two weeks ago at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.  SportsCar365.com reported recently that Giovanis will have minor surgery, but plans to be back at Road America.

In addition, The Racers Group is not just bringing their GT Daytona class Aston Martin to Lime Rock.  The Aston Martin Vantage GT4, last seen at Daytona getting wrecked, will be back on the grid with Craig Lyons and Kris Wilson once again driving.

Motorsports in Action is still fielding only one McLaren 570S GT4 for Chris Green and Jesse Lazare, while VOLT Racing is still campaigning their Ford Mustang GT4 as opposed to their McLaren.

In Street Tuner, there are a couple of driver changes of note.  Pirelli World Challenge TCA veteran Matthew Fassnacht is back in the No. 27 Mazda MX-5 alongside Britt Casey Jr.  Fassnacht replaces Mark Drennan, who was a last-minute call-up for CTMP.  Aside from the change in the No. 27, the Mazda teams are fully intact for Lime Rock.  Last year, the only cars on the lead lap in ST at the end of the race were Mazda MX-5s.  Expect entries like the Stevan McAleerChad McCumbee No. 25 pictured above to be contenders.

Mark Pombo returns to MINI JCW Team’s No. 52, replacing Jared Salinsky.  Justin Piscitell is listed in the No. 65 Murillo Racing Porsche Cayman in place of Brent Mosing.  Piscitell has had involvement with Murillo Racing for years, but rarely drives for them.

As expected, the Riley Racing team is back with their Mazda MX-5 for AJ and Jameson Riley.  Last year, they qualified in the top five in ST.  Don’t be shocked if they can pull that off again since the MX-5s are very fast on the short track.

The only entry from Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in ST that is not currently entered for Lime Rock is the Kensai/DXDT Racing No. 63 Porsche Cayman of David Askew and Aaron Povoledo.  The car has been through quite a bit in the two race weekends that the team has competed in.  It is unclear when they will be back.
