Kyle Larson, we are not in Dover anymore.
He may think we are, as the No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet topped practice Friday at Pocono Raceway after doing the same last weekend at the Monster Mile.
Ripping around the unique triangle course in 50.758 seconds, Larson was once again ahead of the other Kyle in Kyle Busch, who was only 0.022 behind.
With Matt Kenseth in third, a slew of Fords lined up in rears, with Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski and Ryan Blaney in the top 10.
Jamie McMurray was eighth, making CGR the top two Chevrolet teams. Paul Menard and Jimmie Johnson completed the top 10.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. blew a motor in his No. 88 Chevrolet after turning only eight laps.
Darrell Wallace Jr. drove his first laps in a Cup car in Richard Petty Motorsports’ No. 43 in place of Aric Almirola. The 23-year-old finished 19th quickest after 21 laps on track.
