Christopher Bell’s stellar 2017 season continues.
After winning the most recent Camping World Truck Series race at Atlanta in February, Bell wins opening practice at Martinsville Speedway. The three-time series winner topped the charts at 20.204 seconds (93.724 mph).
Close behind the Kyle Busch Motorsports driver, Brett Moffitt finished second quick, just 0.060 seconds behind the No. 4.
The rest of the top five, who combine for only 17 career starts, is rookie Noah Gragson, Daytona winner Kaz Grala and Chase Briscoe.
Matt Crafton, Harrison Burton, Johnny Sauter, Chase Elliott and John Hunter Nemechek completed the top 10.
The 50-minute session was soon met with heavy rain that delayed the second and final practice for the Truck Series. Up next will be qualifying Saturday morning.
