Team Penske Extends Contract with Joey Logano and Shell Through 2022 ‘And Beyond’

“Greatness. There is no other way to put it.”

Joey Logano is not leaving Team Penske anytime soon.

Logano, 26, announced an extension with the team he has called home since 2013 through 2022 “and beyond.”

“We are so proud of the driver Joey has become since joining our team in 2013 and all the success he has been a part of on the No. 22 team,” team owner Roger Penske said. “But more importantly, we are proud of the man that Joey has become. He has evolved into an effective leader both on and off the track.”

According to Penske, the contract is at least a seven-year extension.

“As a racecar driver, I’ve been able to look at Team Penske before I was here and how they do things differently,” Logano said. “You can notice these things just by how the teams appear, with the way they dress and how beautiful the cars look all the time.

“You know the attention to detail is there. When you see greatness to the naked eye, you know there is a lot more to it.”

Logano has 15 wins since joining Team Penske, piloting the No. 22 car. Shell, which began sponsoring Penske’s No. 22 car when Kurt Busch took the wheel in 2011, will continue to back Logano’s program, with 30-plus races per year.

Crew chief Todd Gordon is also having his contract extended with Team Penske, aligning with Logano through the entirety of this extension.

This is the second long-term partnership announced on the weekend of the 59th running of the Daytona 500. Denny Hamlin and FedEx announced they re-signed with Joe Gibbs Racing for multiple years as well on Thursday.
