Recently, IMSA released the entry for Friday’s Road Atlanta 150, the season finale for the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge. 36 cars are currently entered (ten in Grand Sport, 26 in Street Tuner).
In Grand Sport, Automatic Racing has only entered their No. 09 entry. This is a change since the team’s No. 99 Aston Martin has been the full-time entry for most of the season. In addition, Rebel Rock Racing has broken out their Porsche 911 for one last go-around before it is no longer eligible for the series. Ethan Low, who drove for MINI Team JCW earlier in the season, is part of the driving lineup.
Street Tuner sees all of the usual suspects except for one. Last week, Kris Wright Racing with Goldcrest Motorsports announced their withdrawal from the race due to a new plan for Kris Wright. According to SportsCar365.com, Wright is conducting a testing program that interferes with the race weekend. Wright and teammate Andy Lee effectively raced as teammates to Matthew Dicken and Corey Lewis in the Strategic Wealth Racing No. 36 Porsche Cayman. The No. 36 effort is unchanged.
Also, a couple of driver changes for the Honda of America Racing Team (HART). Ryan Eversley had to miss the last round at Circuit of the Americas due to his commitments to RealTime Racing in Pirelli World Challenge. He’s back this week to contest his home race in the No. 93. Cameron Lawrence, who drove the No. 93 at COTA alongside Chad Gilsinger in Eversley’s place, moves back over to the No. 92, replacing Steve Eich.
