Subs Brett Moffitt, Parker Kligerman Lead Truck Practices

The Camping World Truck Series took to the newly-reconfigured Kentucky Speedway for two practice sessions on Wednesday, and substitute drivers led both events.

Parker Kligerman, subbing for John Wes Townley in the No. 05 truck, won the first practice with a fast lap of 179.099 mph. Rookie William Byron was second (179.075), Kyle Busch third (178.636), Matt Crafton fourth (178.459) and Daniel Hemric fifth (178.448).

Brett Moffitt, subbing for Matt Tifft this weekend as Tifft recovers from brain surgery earlier this week to remove a tumor, was sixth with a lap of 178.271. Rounding out the top 10 was Spencer Gallagher (178.241), Johnny Sauter (178.024), Ben Rhodes (177.971) and Grant Enfinger (177.924).

Travis Kvapil crashed hard during the practice and did not have a backup truck for his No. 50 team. Kvapil brokered a deal to race the No. 1 truck in place of Jennifer Jo Cobb, who will in turn replace Caleb Roark in the No. 10.

Moffitt led the second practice session with a lap of 183.805 mph. Byron and Busch were once again second and third, with laps of 183.755 and 183.387, respectively. Brandon Jones (183.076) and Kligerman (182.667) completed the top 5.

The top 10 also included Tyler Reddick (182.513), Daniel Suarez (182.500), Timothy Peters (182.045), Cameron Hayley (181.794) and Hemric (181.720).

Qualifying for the Buckle Up In Your Truck 225 will be held tomorrow at 5:00 pm.
